Meet Everyman team to celebrate 45th birthday!

Liverpool’s Everyman theatre is celebrating its 45th birthday this year and is opening its doors to the public to give insight into what happens behind the scenes.

On Monday 28 September the Everyman and Playhouse’s artistic director Gemma Bodinetz is inviting anyone interested to pop into the Everyman foyer between 5-6pm for a chat on the sofas with her and the team.

A cup of tea and a cupcake can be enjoyed over a discussion about the theatre’s planned re-development.

Following its success at the Hope Street Feast this year, the Everyman will also be organising a free programme of backstage guided tours of the theatre over the next few months.

The theatre is also preparing for the homecoming of celebrated actor Jonathan Pryce to the theatre where he began his career.

Award-winning Pryce will star as the tramp Davies in Harold Pinter classic The Caretaker, which is being directed by Christopher Morahan.

The Caretaker is at the Liverpool Everyman from Friday 2 until Saturday 31 October 2009. For tickets call 0151 709 4776. The production will then appear at Theatre Royal Bath from Monday 2 until Saturday 7 November 2009.
