Jim Cartwright’s Two at the Dukes

Jim Cartwright‘s classic two-hander – aptly named Two is coming to the Duke’s in Lancaster this October. The piece was a recent success at the Oldham Coliseum and is seen by man as Northern theatre at its best.

“First night in here? Well, you’ll get used to us.” Set in a busy bar one night in 1989, Two presents a microcosm of working class life. Combining pathos and humour with a storyline that twists and turns.

This two-handed play is set in the heart of a community where relationships are laid bare and characters we all recognise, share their ups and downs, their flaws and qualities. The audience are asked to prepare for a night down the pub like no other.

Written by Jim Cartwright, this play follows The Duke’s recent success with his The Rise and Fall of Little Voice. The play is directed by Louie Ingham, with sets designed by Alison Heffernan and Music and Sound Design by Mark Melville.

Two runs from 6 – 28 October.
