Oldham Coliseum Theatre have announced their new programme of productions for their Homecoming Season – returning to their newly refurbished building this October.

The theatre will re-open on Friday 26 October with a special welcome back fundraiser evening titled Curtain Up at the Coliseum as well as a free Open Day on Saturday 27 October to give audiences a chance to take a look around the new building.

The season features Alan Ayckbourn’s Sugar Daddies, Charles Dickens’ David Copperfield and Alan Plater’s Blonde Bombshells of 1943.

The Oldham venue also welcomes back local double act LipService with their take on the popularity of Nordic detective series; Inspector Norse and the critically acclaimed London Classic Theatre who return with The Importance of Being Earnest.

There will also be a visit from two local amateur dramatic societies; Aston Operatic will be performing Mack & Mabel and Congress Players will revive Oliver!.

The season also includes children’s puppetry show Handa’s Surprise at Oldham Central Library and Troop Theatre’s exciting take on Macbeth also at the library. The Coliseum will also mount a small scale tour of Jane Eyre in association with ALRA (The Academy of Live and Recorded Arts) which will tour local community venues.

The season ends with the previously announced annual pantomime and this year it's Cinderella written by Fine Time Fontayne and Kevin Shaw.
