\’Not Part Of\’ Festival Line-up Announced

With Manchester gearing itself up for the self titled festival featuring the likes of Rufus Wainwright, Damon Albarn and Carlos Acosta, there is also an alternative for those arts lovers seeking edgier fare.

The ‘Not Part Of’ Festival runs from 2 – 18 July and features a variety of events including a new play entitled M which is a modern day take on the classic stage play and subsequent Alfred Hitchcock film Dial M For Murder, which was later re-imagined as A Perfect Murder, staring Gwyneth Paltrow and Michael Douglas.

A fast paced thriller set in the elite district of Manhattan’s young and wealthy, M tells the story of 2 siblings with one of them having murder on their mind and is produced by Vertigo Theatre. M receives its 1st outing at Vertigo’s usual venue Taurus Bar in the heart of the gay village and will open from 1- 4 July.

Other highlights include the return of perennial favourites the Ladyboys of Bangkok who take over Sackviille Street with their mix of cabaret and pop, Laughter Lines– a stand up comedy show featuring 14- 18 year old comedians and Cornerman a boxing themed play starring Shameless star Ciaran Griffiths.
