Dukes stages outdoor Robin Hood, 5 July

The UK’s largest outdoor walkabout theatre event is set to return this summer when The Dukes take over Lancaster’s picturesque Williamson Park with an all new outdoor version of Robin Hood.

This version of Robin Hood will be written by Kevin Dyer who was nominated for the Writers Guild of Great Britain Best Theatre Play Award for Merlin and The Legend of King Arthur which the Lancaster theatre produced outdoors in 2011 and was seen by almost 18,000 people.

Since 1987, The Dukes has established a national reputation for producing outstanding outdoor theatre, leading the way in this particular field and attracting an audience of almost 500,000.

The promenade season attracts thousands of people from across the country and abroad to enjoy a special theatrical experience set  within Lancashire’s best kept secret – the glorious Williamson Park and its dramatic centerpiece, the Ashton Memorial, once described as the  grandest monument in England.

Robin Hood will be performed in Williamson Park, Lancaster, from 5 July-10 August.
