Sell A Door returns to Unity with love story

Liverpool-based theatre company Sell A Door and playwright David Hutchinson, return to the Unity Theatre to premiere Where the Solitary Eagle Flies at the end of the month.

The play is described as “a powerful drama of forbidden love and broken family” which has been inspired by a true story.

Jack Cosgrove has been cast as Jake, who meets Rachel (being played by Jessica Spalis), whilst searching for the answers to his past. The two lovers find a hidden secret lies beneath them that will change their relationship forever. As Jake can’t keep his thoughts off Rachel, Rachel can’t hide her heart from Jake. But how far can these lovers fare when the world has no place for their love?

Hutchinson explains: “This May we are producing a new play called Where the Solitary Eagle Flies, developed with the Liverpool Everyman Literary Department, which explores the story of a boy and girl who fall in love, then discover they can never be together.”

The drama is being co-directed by Hutchinson and Alison Carter.

Where the Solitary Eagle Flies appears at the Unity for two nights from 20 May, before it transfers to Edinburgh for most of August. Call the Unity box office on 0844 873 2888 for information.
