Non Professional Actors Required For Library’s Hard Times

The Library Theatre Company is recruiting a Community Company of actors to support its forthcoming production of Charles Dickens’s Hard Times and no experience is necessary.

Hard Times is Dickens’s story of dramatic events in a 19th century mill town and, most excitingly, will be played in the atmospheric Murrays’ Mills in Ancoats. It will be directed by the Company’s Artistic Director, Chris Honer.

Rehearsals will start on Tuesday 3 May, and performances will be between Saturday 4 June and Saturday 2 July. The Library Theatre Company want to hear from anyone who would like to take part in the project, and will be holding two informal information meetings for people for those interested:

Thursday 31 March – 7pm
Saturday 2 April – 2.30pm

The meetings will be held at the Zion Arts Centre, 335 Stretford Road, Hulme, Manchester, M15 5ZA. You only need to come to one of these meetings.

They are looking for anyone over the age of 16 – all welcome! The work is unpaid but some expenses will be offered per performance. This is a great opportunity to experience life at a professional theatre. No previous experience is necessary – just enthusiasm and commitment.

People should be able to commit to a certain number of rehearsals and performances; complete availability is not essential.

Please note: They cannot consider professional actors for these roles.

The theatre understands that many of those involved will have work and home commitments so rehearsals will be scheduled with this in mind.
