Denise Van Outen tours one-woman show next year

Van Outen has co-written and will star in the show about a ‘media darling’ thrown into turmoil

Denise Van Outen will tour her long-rumoured new one-woman 'play with music', Some Girl I Used to Know, next year.

The show, which she has co-written with singer/songwriter Terry Ronald, will premiere at the West Yorkshire Playhouse on 5 February 2014 before touring the UK (see dates below).

According to press material, "Stephanie Canworth has it all; a successful career, supportive husband and she’s a media darling. But a Facebook poke from a former love and the memories come flooding back. Is this really the life she wants? Songs from the 80s and 90s accompany Stephanie’s journey down memory lane."

Van Outen’s West End credits include Tell Me on a Sunday, Chicago, Rent: Remixed and Legally Blonde. Her television roles include Hotel Babylon, Babes in the Wood and Where the Heart Is. Last year, she was runner-up on Strictly Come Dancing.

Some Girl I Used to Know is directed by Michael Howcroft and designed by Morgan Large, with movement direction by Matthew Cole, lighting by Josh Carr, sound by David Gregory, musical direction by Garth Hall and musical supervision by Steve Anderson. It's produced by Tristan Baker and Charlie Parsons for Runaway Entertainment.
