Emily Tierney, Nikki Davis-Jones and Liam Doyle lead Wicked tour

Principal casting has been announced for the upcoming tour of Stephen Schwartz’ Wicked

Emily Tierney and Nikki Davis-Jones will star as Glinda and Elphaba in the upcoming tour of Wicked, which opens at the Manchester Palace Theatre in September.

Emily Tierney played Glinda in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s production of The Wizard of Oz, and has also appeared in Wicked at the Apollo Victoria Theatre. Other credits include All the Fun of the Fair, West Side Story and Titanic – The Musical.

Nikki Davis-Jones was previously standby Elphaba in the London production of Wicked, playing the role on numerous occasions. Her other stage credits include Rent (20th anniversary tour), Lift (Soho Theatre) and Peter Pan (Liverpool Empire).

Another formed Wicked cast member that will join the production, which tells the story of the witches of Oz, will be George Ure as Boq, reprising a role which he played for three years in London.

The rest of the cast includes Liam Doyle (Fiyero), Marilyn Cutts (Madame Morrible), Dale Rapley (The Wizard and Doctor Dillamond) and Carina Gillespie (Nessarose).

The production will visit Manchester, Dublin, Milton Keynes, Cardiff, Glasgow, Leeds and Birmingham, with further cities and dates to be announced.
