Based on the 2005 film which starred Judi Dench and Bob Hoskins. Based on the true story of the Windmill Theatre in London. 70-year-old recently-widow Mrs Laura Henderson buys the theatre as a way of spending her time and money, and appoints manager Vivian Van Damm. As the war looms Mrs Henderson searches for something to boost morale and box office, coming up with the idea of The Windmill Girls - glamorous young women posing as nude statues (movement by nudes in a lice show being banned at the time). Audiences flock and as the Blitz hits London, The Windmill boasted "We Never Close".
When Disco diva Deloris Van Cartier witnesses a murder she is put in protective custody in the one place cops are sure she won't be found - a convent! Disguised as a nun, she finds herself at odds with both the rigid lifestyle and an up tight Mother Superior. Using her unique disco moves and singing talent to inspire the choir Deloris breaths new life into the church and community, but in doing so blows her cover. Soon the gang is giving chase only to find them up against Deloris and the power of her new found Sister Hood. Based on the smash-hit movie.
1961. 14 year-old Graham Young had a talent for chemistry and a hunger for fame. He might have opted for a career in science, instead, within a year, his stepmother was dead and his father, sister and a school friend had been poisoned. After nine years in Broadmoor Mental Hospital he was put in charge of the tea-trolley in a chemical laboratory. In just two months he had poisoned 70 more. This is the true story of a compelling, chilling and obsessive anti-hero, whose family, friends and work-mates became guinea-pigs in his experiments with poison. From school to Broadmoor, from the laboratory where he worked to Parkhurst where he died, if Graham Young was serving the tea, it was best avoided.
