WhatsOnStage is delighted to confirm that we will be returning to the West End's 1100-seat Prince of Wales Theatre – current home of this year's blockbuster Broadway import The Book of Mormon – for the 2014 Awards Ceremony and Concert, which takes place on 23 February 2014.

The Prince of Wales was the venue for three sold-out Awards concerts between 2010-12, which were hosted by stars including James Corden, Sheridan Smith, Mel Giedroyc, Miranda Hart, Jenny Eclair, Christopher Biggins and Alan Davies. In 2013, the Awards moved up Shaftesbury Avenue to the Palace Theatre, during The Book of Mormon's technical rehearsals period.

Tickets are now on sale to the 2014 Concert, priced from £39.50 to £67.00 – click here to book!

The annual WhatsOnStage Awards – the only major theatre prize to be decided across all categories by the theatregoing public – have firmly established their place in the theatrical calendar with over 60,000 people voting each year (a target we're aiming to smash in 2014…).

"We are thrilled to be returning 'home to the Prince of Wales, where we've had so many memorable Awards evenings," commented WhatsOnStage managing and editorial director Terri Paddock. "It feels especially apt with The Book of Mormon residing there and sure to feature heavily in this year's shortlists in an incredibly strong year for new musicals. We are all very excited at WhatsOnStage – and we know theatregoers are too!

Nominations are currently open for the 2014 Awards and run until 30 November ahead of the shortlists being announced during our industry-only Launch Party on 6 December 2013 (if you'd like to attend, see details below). Other major new musicals eligible to go head-to-head with The Book of Mormon include Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Once, From Here to Eternity and The Commitments in the West End, as well as The Light Princess at the National and the critically acclaimed London premieres of The Scottsboro Boys, The Color Purple and Titanic.

As recently announced, we've already surpassed 30,000 nominations submissions this year.

Official Charity of the WhatsOnStage Awards

Both Awards events are held in aid of our adopted charity, The Big Issue Foundation, the charitable organisation which helps the The Big Issue magazine’s homeless vendors take their next steps off the street. The annual four-month Awards campaign – including the two star-studded events which top and tail audience voting – are held in aid of The Big Issue Foundation.

For the price of a pair of theatre tickets, you could buy a year’s worth of Big Issues or donate just £10 a month to the charity, to make a real difference in a homeless person’s life. To find out more, visit the Official Charity page on the Awards website. Or, to make a monthly or one-off donation now, visit www.bigissue.org.uk .
