Cooney / Chas & Dave Musical Debuts in Windsor

Stop Dreamin’ – The Chas & Dave/Ray Cooney Musical debuts next week at the Theatre Royal, Windsor.

From the pen of Ray Cooney, one of Britain’s best-loved playwrights, having written and directed more than twenty West End shows, the musical is based around the songs of the legendary Chas & Dave and features such classics as “Ain’t No Pleasing You”, “Rabbit”, and “Gertcha”.

Set in London in the 1960s – family man Fred has a lot on his plate: a troubled marriage; wayward children; and a father who is slowly losing his grip on reality! Thankfully help is at hand in the form of “Mr Music,” a mysterious new ‘friend’ who is invisible to everyone but Fred. Hilarity ensues in this feel-good comedy about family, love and the inspirational power of music.

The star cast includes Cliff Parisi (best known as Minty in BBC1’s Eastenders, sitcom veteran Trevor Bannister, (Are You Being Served, Last of The Summer Wine, Vicki Michelle – who shot to fame as the saucy Yvette in Allo Allo and well known TV and stage actor Royce Mills.

Stop Dreamin’ promises to be “a fun, feel-good mixture of rousing cockney songs, wistful lullabies, and energetic comedy” certain to have you dancing in the aisles and rolling with laughter!
