Annie Comes to Poole This Autumn

The world’s favourite orphan is back! Annie, the heart-warming rags-to-riches musical starring Hi-De-Hi television legend Su Pollard, visits Lighthouse, Poole’s Centre for the Arts from 4 to 8 October and is one of the many highlights of the venue’s soon-to-be-announced new autumn season.

Star of stage and screen, Su Pollard, who became a household name playing chalet maid Peggy Ollerenshaw in BBC1’s long-running comedy series Hi-De-Hi, reprises her role as the dastardly Miss Hannigan and David McAlister (Hollyoaks, Eastenders and Brideshead Revisited) makes a welcome return as the billionaire businessman, Oliver Warbucks.

Annie’s adventures from Miss Hannigan’s orphanage to the luxurious home of Oliver Warbucks, is a story that has been told all over the world for decades. First seen on stage in 1976, Annie is a wonderful heart-warming story that has become a timeless classic, still enchanting both young and old, with the Daily Express describing this production as “pure magic”. Audiences will also be able to enjoy a performance from a real dog on stage, as Annie befriends Sandy, an abandoned mutt, who quickly becomes her friend and constant companion.

With a memorable score including ‘It’s A Hard Knock Life’, ‘Easy Street’ and of course the legendary ‘Tomorrow’, Annie is one of the best loved family musicals of all time.
